Three kinds of water
Water places, sorted by type
A corniche, a coast, and a paid water park are not variations of one afternoon. Mixing them up is how people buy the wrong thing, or swim from the wrong rocks.
Read this if the name looked familiar
Aquarabia Qiddiya City is a water theme park in Qiddiya City, west of Riyadh. This website is aquarabia-sa, published from An Nuzhah. We do not sell the park’s tickets, cabanas, surf sessions, or queue products. We are not its help desk. The phone and inboxes on this site reach the publisher. If a page asks you to pay, it is not this one.
Corniche
A paved public waterfront for walking. The Jeddah Corniche is the long Red Sea example. Khobar Corniche is a public Gulf waterfront in the Eastern Province. Walking there is not the same thing as a managed swimming beach. Read the signs on the stretch you are actually on.
Coast
Red Sea and Gulf shores vary: marked beaches, rocky promenades, and resort sand controlled by a hotel. A map pin is not permission. Rocky entries need water shoes only where entry is allowed. Stay away from boat ramps. Do not swim alone. Glare off the sea is strong even in winter.
Paid park
A business with its own hours, height rules, lockers, and tickets. Al Shallal in Jeddah is a theme park with a lake, not a water park. Aquarabia Qiddiya City is a water park. Neither is operated by this website. House rules outrank a paragraph you read the week before.
The Jeddah seafront, briefly
The full walking notes, Al-Balad, Al-Rahma Mosque, and Al Shallal are on the Jeddah page. The short version: choose one section of a very long promenade, do not climb from the path onto rocks for a swim, and treat a theme-park ticket as a different outing.
Aquarabia Qiddiya City, as dated notices
The operator announced that the park would welcome visitors on 23 April 2026. Opening material described a large water theme park with many rides, several zones, some dry attractions, food outlets, and paid extras such as a surf session and cabanas. Those are the operator’s products. We are not repeating the operator’s slogans, and we are not grading the rides.
That April 2026 announcement described adult entry starting from SAR 325 and entry for children aged 4 to 11 starting from SAR 200, with younger children described as free, plus a discount for buying ahead. It also described daytime hours and a Friday set aside for women. A later notice described summer hours from 14 June, shifted into the afternoon and evening. The schedule in public notices has already changed once. Use the operator for the price and the hours on the day you want. Do not treat a figure on this page as a live fare, and do not pay a third party because the name resembles aquarabia-sa.
Qiddiya City is on the west side of Riyadh, beyond an ordinary downtown errand. Confirm which gate to use. Our office in An Nuzhah is not that gate. Ride rules, height, health, and clothing are decided by the operator. Nothing here clears a person to use a slide. Friday access in particular should be read the week you travel, because a women-only day changes who can enter.
How to read any paid water day
- Check hours during the week of the visit, not from an opening-month screenshot.
- Ask what the ticket includes, and what is extra, before you pay the operator.
- A water park is not shade. Bring the sun protection the rules allow, and ask about lockers.
- Agree a meeting point before the group separates.
- Height rules are the park’s. A child under the line does not get an exception from a website.
- If someone does not swim, ask which water is shallow and whether a lifejacket is available. Do not infer that from a brochure photograph.
We do not rank these places, and we do not describe them as safe. Procedures belong to the operator. The decision to go in belongs to you. Summer timing for Riyadh, Jeddah, and the cooler southwest is on the calendar. The inland city around Qiddiya is on the Riyadh note.
